Genuine one to one tutoring for your child

Scholarships & Private Education

Each year private and independent schools offer academic and general scholarships. The process involves sitting a specific exam and often an interview. This can be challenging for students.
Brainworks scholarship tutoring prepares students from years 3 to 9 for scholarship tests for private schools by working through a framework of content that is customised and targeted to their needs. All students are taught one to one using key techniques for their scholarship exam preparation.

Being taught one to one for scholarship exam preparation is important to your child because they will;

- become confident about the scholarship exam process and their own capabilities
- build skills progressively to be able to effectively assimilate new knowledge
- familiarise themselves with the test format and style of questions
- improve exam technique and strategy including timing to be able to cope with the format

When to prepare?

Most scholarship exams are conducted during February and March. Term three or four is an appropriate time for students to commence scholarship preparation programs. Some schools now conduct their initial exams at earlier dates, during October and November. Scholarship preparation for these exams can commence in term 2.

Scholarship Intensive Programs are available for early scholarship exam preparation. Here is a list of the venues offering the Holiday Intensive Scholarship Program in January.

Brainworks Scholarship Curriculum

The Brainworks scholarship study materials used are easy to follow, appropriate for age but also offer the necessary challenge. Whilst students gain great confidence from our classes and that benefits their every day schooling, the curriculum that is taught is markedly different from the school curriculum. The questions that are posed to students require a strong understanding of fundamentals to then be able to confidently tackle various tasks. Therefore the curriculum at all levels is written to ascertain a student's conceptual understanding, to teach to the required level and then to apply those concepts to solve problems.
